Dr. Alexey Morozov
I'm a practicing physician and health journalist, and I started The Health Ledger because I kept seeing the same gap: solid medical evidence on one side, and, on the other, a wall of alarming headlines, ads dressed up as advice, and miracle-cure marketing.
For more than fifteen years I've worked directly with patients — first in general practice, later combining clinical work with writing about medicine for a general audience. That combination shapes how I write here: every article starts from an actual question people bring to their doctor, not from what happens to be trending. Where the evidence is solid, I say so plainly. Where it's mixed or still developing, I say that too, instead of forcing a tidy answer that doesn't exist yet.
The topics on this blog follow what patients actually ask about: which checkups are worth doing and on what schedule, how to read a lab result without panicking, when a symptom needs a same-day visit versus a routine one, and how new tools and technology are actually changing (or not changing) day-to-day care.
Nothing here replaces a real consultation with your own doctor, who knows your history and can examine you. What I aim for is simpler: that after reading, you walk into that conversation better informed, with better questions, and less anxious than a worrying search result would have left you.
